I have a flat fee for a session, regardless of what we do during that time. I am in the room the entire time, so if you wish to do acupuncture, we can incorporate massage and/or energy work as well. Every session is bespoke and you have total control. Well, mostly total control.
60 minute: $100
90 minute: $145
Cancellation Policy: I ask that you let me know 24 hours or more ahead of your appointment if you need to cancel or reschedule. If you do not show or cancel within the 24 hour window, you will be charged $40 to help cover the cost of the room.
I accept cash, checks, Venmo, PayPal, Cash App and credit cards
With children at home and a full practice, I'm trying to limit my home visits. With that said, I will gladly work with you if the need arises and coming into the office isn't a viable option. Pricing for at home visit are as follows.
60 minute: $150
90 minute: $195
*At home visits are not scheduled through the website. Please reach out to Gina Tarara directly, via email or phone, to schedule.
Currently, I am not in network with any insurance carrier. I am happy to provide you with a detailed receipt to take to your insurance provider, but I cannot ensure reimbursement. Massage and acupuncture services are often covered under one's HSA or FSA plan through work, so that may be a good option for you if you have one.
Fun question! The answer is probably best stated, "we shall see!" Every session is unique and tailored to the individual's needs that day. You can be as hands on as you want with the details of what goes into each session.
As for modalities and tools that we can incorporate, the list is extensive...
Acupuncture Tui Na Massage Energy Work
Cupping Shiatsu Massage Chakra Balancing
Moxibustion Deep Tissue Massage Intuitive Work
Ear Seeds Swedish Massage Sound Healing/Tuning Forks
Korean Hand Therapy Prenatal Massage Reflexology
Gua Sha Craniosacral Therapy/Dynamic Body Balancing
*Unlike most practitioners, I ask even my acupuncture clients to undress to their comfort level and lay down under the sheets like they would for a massage as I do a lot of hands on work. If you would prefer to keep clothes on, no problem! I just ask that you wear comfortable, ideally stretchy, clothing that day.
I know some of these requests are going to fall on deaf ears, especially the no caffeine "rule," but here is what I would IDEALLY like for you the day of your session...
Refrain from coffee or any form of caffeine the day of. Even a small amount in the morning stays in your system for up to 8 hours and can affect how well your nervous system responds to and relaxes during the treatment.
(There, I got the hard one out of the way. Please keep reading!)
If you are planning an intense workout that day, please do it before the session and allow your body a couple hours to decompress before coming in. And ideally, refrain from any strenuous workouts for the remainder of the day after your session. Yoga, hiking and some stretching are all great, though!
Especially after a session with lots of energy work or deep tissue massage, it's best to take a shower or bath sometime that day or evening. Epsom baths are even better! They help to reduce soreness and that feeling of yuckiness the next day, I promise.
So much water! We are all dehydrated, even in the winter, so drink up before and after. It's a great way to clear the toxins and energetic gunk (a very technical term) that are released during the work.
Your blood sugar levels will drop after exercise, but also after deep tissue massage and acupuncture, so eat something balanced (meaning throw some healthy fat and protein into the mix) the hour or two before your session. Not a huge meal, just something to keep you from feeling light headed afterwards. For those with known blood sugar regulation issues, it's best to bring something small to nosh on after your session, just in case.
As you may already know, there is some time after a session where you may feel a little... woo woo. If I could hire a cab to drive you home, I would, but instead I just ask you to take whatever time you need before hopping behind a wheel. Your reaction time will be greatly decreased, so please be careful. I like you and want you to remain in one piece.
I would love to have some perfect prescription for how many sessions are necessary for any given issue, but every body is unique and will respond differently. I am not one to try and convince you that you will need a certain number of treatments to lock you into some pre-paid plan, and if we can correct it in one go, awesome! I am also happy to give you homework (in the form of herbs, stretches, exercises, dietary changes, etc) so that our work doesn't start and end with you walking in and out of my office. And I love incorporating other practitioners who offer their own unique gifts and expertise, so expect referrals if I think it'll help solve the puzzle. Speaking of, please check out my list of favorite practitioners - found within my Favorite Things tab!
I ask that you let me know 24 hours or more ahead of your appointment if you need to cancel or reschedule. If you do not show or cancel within the 24 hour window, you will be charged $40 to help cover the cost of the room. If you wish to dispute the cancellation fee, please email ginatarara@elementalhealthmn.com.
Thank you for understanding.
Please reach out to me directly with any questions, concerns or comments. The best way to reach me is via email, but you can also text or call my cell. Please allow up to 48 hours for a response as I am a busy bee!
